"The Resting in Nature series above the bed in The Floyd Artist Suite shows 1) my weekly practice of line drawings of figures, 2) a detailed grey-scale drawing focusing on the values present and 3) a finished watercolor designed to connect with the viewers subconscious. By using cool greens and blues and touches of warm sunlight yellow, I wish to convey an impression of peace and happiness. Patricia Robin Woodruff
grew up in Philadelphia and moved away to the mountains at the
soonest opportunity. She divides her time between her homestead in
the wilds of Cameron Co., PA and her studio in the creative
culture of Floyd. Woodruff’s work has evolved from realism to
expressionism. She strives to capture emotion on paper by using
color and form. Art that goes beyond the visual to connect with
your mind and soul.
