Buffalo Mountain Natural Area Preserve Public access facilities include a small parking area and a steep 1 mile hiking trail to the summit. See web site for directions www.dcr.virginia.gov/natural_heritage/ natural_area_preserves/buffalo.shtml widely recognized as one of Virginia’s greatest natural heritage treasures; home to 14 rare plant species, three invertebrate species and six natural communities that are also rare in Virginia. Great Oaks is an exciting 18 hole regulation course located at the Great Oaks Country Club facility in Floyd, VA. From the longest tees it offers 6,437 yards of golf for a par of 72. The course was designed by Gene Hamm and opened in 1967.
The course rating is 70.8 with a slope rating of 124. Great Oaks is a private non-equity golf course with a 'Accompanied By Member' guest policy. The course contact is Tommy R. Ziglar, Golf Professional.
